The Ladies Group

The Batheaston Ladies Group was formed in 2008 from the skeleton of the Townswomen’s Guild, which was founded in 1963.
We have about 25 members and meet in the Rhymes Pavilion, Coalpit Road at 2:30pm on the second Wednesday each month.
We have a varied programme of Speakers, an Arts and Crafts group, a Walking group, a Gardening Club, and have outings to places of interest. We are affiliated to the Bath Federation of Townswomen’s Guilds and have the opportunity of joining in their events.
Visitors of all ages are most welcome to join us!

More about The Townswomen’s Guilds
Who Are we ?
We are women interested in national and international affairs
We are women interested in what is happening
We are women with various creative interests and abilities who like to meet with others to pursue their interests.
We are women who enjoy meeting once a month as part of a national movement.
We are ordinary women just like you
Ever wanted to make your views known on the major topics affecting every one of us today? Considered joining an organisation of women committed to improving their lives and enjoying themselves while they do it?
TG opens up a world of opportunity and challenge for women of all ages from all walks of life.
We’ve changed since we began in 1929 but then so have the needs and interests of our members. We’re still campaigning for equal rights and equal pay for women.
We’re working nationally on a wide range of issues affecting all women, their families and their environment. Irrespective of age, colour or creed, TG provides a common ground for groups of women in all parts of the country to meet on a regular basis to exchange ideas, learn new skills and, above all, enjoy themselves.
TG members are involved in work of vital Importance to the future or our society. They campaign actively on a wide range of critical issues from the environment, unemployment and consumer matters to defence, energy conservation, public safety, the nuclear debate and European affairs.
Our members also have fun.
We organise all kinds of activities including sports, drama, music, painting, crafts and keep-fit. We arrange study courses, conferences, residential courses and trips abroad. You’re encouraged to organise any activity not already covered.
We have regular display stands at major exhibitions including The Royal Show and many County shows and promote TG nationally in a variety of ways.
