|Batheaston Bridge and Cycle path are now officially open
An official openiing ceremony took place on Tuesday 15th July where a ribbon was cut by Councillor Ian Gilchrist (Vice Chairman of the Council). Also in attendance were Councillor Paul Crossley (Leader of the Council), Councillor Caroline Roberts (Cabinet Member for Transport), members of Batheaston and Bathampton Parish Councils, representatives of Bath and North East Somerset Council and members of the public.
The Bridge and Cycle path works were completed and opened to the public on Monday 30th June 2014. This followed a long construction project which was significantly delayed due to very wet conditions through Winter and early Spring.
There are a number of issues still to resolve, the most significant being signage on Mill Lane to warn users and motorists of the Cyclepath exit / entrance.
Both Batheaston and Bathampton Parish Council are in contact with B&NES who have said that signage is on order and will be installed as soon as it is available.
Both Parish Councils are also keen to ensure tree planting, as set out in the original plan, is completed during the Autumn and other ideas for landscaping are explored.
